David C. Nelson joined AKC Law in 2019 and is on the firm’s Business team. He has over 30 years experience advising Omaha businesses with drafting, reviewing, revising, and negotiating complex contracts and also has experience in managing local counsel on litigation, arbitration, mediation and settlement of claims.
In his real estate practice, Dave is known for his ability to navigate and complete complex projects and has extensive experience counseling clients on issues regarding real estate purchases and sales, title insurance, surveys, zoning, title insurance, commercial and industrial property leasing and construction.
Dave’s business law experience is equally robust. He is able to advise businesses on acquisition and divestiture agreements and due diligence, equipment leasing, trademark, copyright, software and technology licenses, formation of for-profit and non-profit entities, loans and warehousing, consignment, transportation, and supply of products.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his JD, magna cum laude, from Creighton University’s School of Law. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court of Nebraska. He has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell for strong legal ability and high ethical standards.
For over ten years, Dave was the leader of a non-profit youth travel baseball organization. In his spare time, you can find him watching his son play college baseball or on a golf course playing with hickory-shafted clubs.
